Need a New Roof? Seminole County Is Offering Up to $20,000 in Assistance

If you’re a Seminole County homeowner who needs a new roof, this is worth knowing about — and you’ll want to act quickly.

Seminole County is opening its Mission Blue Tarp Roof Replacement Assistance Program on Monday, September 21, 2026.

Eligible homeowners may receive a grant of up to $20,000 toward roof replacement.

There’s one big catch: the County says it will accept only the first 60 pre-applications.

To pre-apply beginning September 21, homeowners need to email their name, address and phone number to MBT_CD@seminolecountyfl.gov. County staff will then contact applicants to discuss eligibility and next steps.

Priority will be given to households that include someone with developmental disabilities or a person with special needs, and assistance is subject to eligibility and available funding.

If you or someone you know has been putting off a roof replacement because of the cost, this may be worth looking into.
